How your tax is calculated +
A starting point, not a payslip. Annual mode assumes full-year Danish residency, ordinary salary and no capital income or spouse transfers. For personal withholding, choose “My tax card”.
Assumptions & official sources +
2026 rules: personal allowance 54,100 kr.; 12.01% bottom tax; 7.5% middle tax above 641,200 kr.; another 7.5% above 777,900 kr.; 5% above 2,592,700 kr. Band thresholds apply after AM-bidrag. The middle-tax ceiling adjustment is included. All 98 municipal and church rates are available.
Employment and job deductions are automatic, with optional single-parent and senior deductions. Occupational pension inputs assume eligible ratepension contributions below the combined 68,700 kr. annual cap; the extra pension deduction is included. Other pension arrangements, pension payouts, private pension payments and special ATP rates need separate treatment. Employer pension is on top of the entered cash salary. Standard ATP employer contributions are assumed.
Enter commuting and other eligible deductions as annual amounts calculated by SKAT. These are not cash refunds. Do not enter capital-income deductions such as interest in “Other annual deductions”. Non-cash benefits increase tax but do not increase cash paid out. A negative result is possible if benefits or cash deductions exceed salary.
Property taxes, capital income, spouse transfers, other income, public-debt withholding, special expatriate schemes and part-year residency are not automatically calculated. Your tax card can reflect many of these; its rate is used once, without adding annual tax bands again. Frikort balances and special tax schemes require SKAT’s guidance.
